Established by Gavan Johnson in 1998, Gavan Johnson Mechanical began as Gavan, by himself, in a small shed in Nambour. But even back then, Gavan’s commitment to quality workmanship caused his customer base to grow and grow, until in 2011 the business moved to its current location at 25 Rigby Street, and his team has grown to a crew of six professionals who share his passion for automotive repairs.

Gavan and many of his staff are involved in numerous forms of motorsport, including rally and drag racing. All of our staff are 4WD enthusiasts, and most of the team is dual trained in both mechanical and auto electrical.

We attribute our success and 20 year longevity to our repeat customer base and word of mouth growing our business, and we believe the only way to achieve that is to offer peerless workmanship and quality customer service.

Gavan Johnson Mechanical uses only quality parts, takes care of our customers’ cars as if they were our own, and ensure we do only the best quality work we can do on each job. We keep our workshop clean and pride ourselves on our professional presentation, and we remind ourselves every day to be friendly to both petrolheads and people who know nothing about cars, taking care to explain the work that went into each job and why it was necessary.
